Forecasts for the Euro zone, Poland’s chief trade partner accounting for over 50% of our exports and more than 47% of imports, sound worse from week to week. This will have an effect on trade, wrote the web portal pb.pl quoting Urszula Kryńska from Bank Millennium.

Who stands to gain and who stands to lose? Which sectors will collapse and which ones will thrive? Which countries and regions will experience an economic slowdown and which will stay in good shape despite the crisis? Facing forecasts of lean years ahead Polish exporters wonder whether to weather the crisis doing business on present markets or whether to seek new markets.

At a news conference in Warsaw held by the Polish Chamber of Commerce and devoted to the current economic situation in the face of the world financial turmoil, the situation was described as not so much a crisis, but a cyclical slowdown bound to happen regardless of the global financial turmoil.

Aluron has been granted a permission to start business activities in the Katowice Special Economic Zone. Its new investment project is to be located on an area recently included in the zone. In Zawiercie Aluron is to construct a factory which is to produce metal elements for construction woodwork and metal structures. The investment is estimated to cost 30.5 million PLN and 60 workers are expected to find employment in the plant.

The Polish Ministry of Regional Development informs that Norway has accepted some 300 Polish projects relating to environment protection, health care, education and the Schengen zone to the tune of EUR 340 million.
