Poland’s per-capita income is low. With the exception of Warsaw and the central part of the country the purchasing power of ordinary Polish citizens is fairly low. Renting vehicles is often considered a luxury. This attitude is less visible in Warsaw and totally non-existent in places like Paris, where a car is a basic commodity, Avis Polska Vicepresident Radosław Lesiak tells Polish Market’s Maciej Proliński.

In your opinion, what progress has been made in implementing the “Strategy of railway transport expansion till 2013”? What is Group PKP’s position on European markets?

“LOT is a company operating on an open and competitive market and it has to create economic value for shareholders. LOT has to be a profitable business. A positive audit report is expected in 2010 and later we want to earn substantial profits.
