Serenading the Prime Minister

On December 4, 2007 the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Folk Song and Dance Ensemble visited the European Parliament, where its members had an opportunity to experience the functioning of EU institutions in action.
On the same day in the European Parliament building, members of the ensemble met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Owing to the backing of MEP Czesław Siekierski, the ensemble serenaded the Prime Minister performing a medley of Polish folk songs. This short performance made Donald Tusk so happy that the ensemble was asked to sing some more on his departure from the European Parliament headquarters. Among those who cheered on was President of the European Parliament Hans Gert Poettering, who escorted the Polish Prime Minister to the car.
The two statesmen applauded the performers.
