Let’s sing for our Lord

Christmas carols were performed by the youngsters who are under the foundation’s wings: Aleksandra Daukszewicz, Anna Karyś, Patrycja Malinowska, Paweł Nodzak, Krzysztof Sałapa, Marcin Tytko, Agata Zakrzewska, Izabela Kociuba, Aleksandra Gudacz, Ewa Lewandowska, Bartosz Martynów, Marta Popławska, Natalia Smogulecka, Milena Wiśniewska and Paulina Zaleś. The event took place under the honorary patronage of Poland’s First Lady Maria Kaczyńska. Maciek Proliński of “Polish Market” was there.
In 2006 the young performers were invited by First Lady Maria Kaczyńska to the Presidential Palace to sing Christmas carols for foreign ambassadors accredited in Poland. In 2007 they performed carols in several Polish cities. They reached Warsaw, too, but this time to appear in a much bigger concert hall. Once again the audience was thrilled with their performance delivered in a true Christmas spirit. The young artists sang favourite Polish Christmas carols and songs from pastoral plays. Works by foreign composers also featured in their repertoire.
The songs were performed with great joy and gusto. Music lovers in the audience were inspired by how accomplished the young performers were. The carols were arranged in a lively, modern style, though with clear references to tradition. Every time the youngsters go on stage, their health problems seem to disappear. The artists were accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra under Marek Czekała featuring the acclaimed pianist Piotr Salaber and the Partita vocal ensemble with a great staying power on the Polish pop scene. They are all described as great friends of the foundation committed to the idea of helping the handicapped children brighten up their lives with music. During the concert words of gratitude were conveyed to those involved in promoting the project, including “Polish Market” Editor-in-Chief Krystyna Woźniak-Trzosek. “We could not have coped if it had not been for the help extended by those individual people and institutions that have made a worthy contribution to the cause. It is thanks to you that this wonderful event could take place,” Mirosław Satora, President of the Pro Omnibus Foundation said. “During the evening many of those in the audience shed a tear of joy, because each person is able to overcome their fear of what life has in store for them once they discover they are not alone. Even though the world doesn’t always bring us joy and happiness, sometimes the forces of light win the forces of darkness. All you need to do is take a break to notice them. And that’s what this concert was all about. I wish to congratulate all those who spare no effort and kindness to put a smile on the faces of children and grownups, both those who are healthy and those who are sick. Well done!”
