Road building delays ahead of Euro 2012 - Polish Minister of Infrastructure says

The construction of some roads needed for EURO 2012 football championships to be jointly held by Poland and Ukraine may be delayed because the investment documentation has been prepared according to outdated regulations – Cezary Grabarczyk, the Minister of Infrastructure told today Radio PIN.

He explained that workon upgrading Polish regulations to meet EU standards are already in progress. The Ministries of Infrastructure, Regional Development and the Environment joined forces to speed up the investment process possibly hindering building roads on time. However not all red tape can be cut. As Grabarczyk told Radio PIN the development of transportat infrastructure is mainly financed by EU funds thus EU procedures and timetables must be kept.
