“The Center for Jewish Culture is a place where Poles and Jews can meet. It is an institution promoting the values of an open civil society. We found our location – in the Kraków Kazimierz district, as a result of a lucky coincidence… It is a very special place – on the Nowy Plac Square (Jewish Square), at the crossing of Rabbi Meisels Street and Corpus Christi Street. It is the best address between Bug and Odra rivers” – Joachim S. Russek of the Judaica Foundation Center for Jewish Culture told „Polish Market”. Since 15 years the Center has been, day-to-day, inviting to associate with Jewish culture and history. The Center is the organizer of two annual events – the Felix Mendelssohn Music Days and the Encounters with Jewish Culture. The latter takes place in the first month of the Jewish year and lasts ten weeks, until the end of November. The concerts were organized with the assistance of the General Consulate of Austria, General Consulate of France, General Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia, Consulate of the USA, Austrian Culture Forum, Cervantes Institute, French Institute and the Italian Cultural Center.
