Unwind at a monastery
The “Golden Forest Hermitage” Relaxation and Contemplation Therapy Centre is located 3 km from the village of Rytwiany in Świętokrzyskie province. It is situated in a fine leafy forest providing a nurturing, peaceful atmosphere where you can unwind after a stressful. The history of this place dates back to 1624 when the ground-breaking ceremony of the Camaldoli monastery took place. Almost 400 years have passed and the monastery is once again opening its door to all those looking for quiet moments of meditation and rejuvenation.
At the “Golden Forest Hermitage” we offer you an innovative and rare treatment based on the Camaldoli rule: silence, contemplation, solitude. That’s why we, unlike the fashionable SPAs (salus per aquam – health through water) healing only your body, offer you SpeS (salus per silentium – health through silence), a holistic therapy healing the body, mind and spirit.
We offer you a stay at our SpeS with a vast range of modalities and treatments adjusted by a team of specialists, including a psychologist, licensed group therapists and a historian – an expert on the Camaldoli monastery, to meet your needs. Your individual therapy programme is set after a preliminary interview with the psychologist and tests. SpeS offers you ergotherapy, art teraphy and movement therapy. Stylish group therapy rooms, occupational therapy studios, a gym, sauna and massage studios are at the visitor’s disposal.
For your convenience we also offer a refectory with modern kitchen facilities serving traditional home-made meals cooked according to recipes of the European Camaldoli Trail (each day we offer dishes from different monasteries in Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland served with bread baked in our kitchen).
We offer single, double and triple bed stylish en suite rooms. Mind you. We do not provide TV sets or radios. Cell phones are often out of range here. We provide high standard, well-equipped rooms for group training.
During your stay here it is worth getting acquainted with the mysterious and rich history of the Camaldoli order and the monastery in Rytwiany. You will discover why you enter the monastery through three gates, why there is a female wax figure inside a wardrobe and why women were allowed to enter the monastery only three times a year.
