
The Panorama of Contemporary Cinema is a selection of 40 movies awarded at most prestigious international film festivals including: the “Secret of the Grain” (“La graine et le mulet”) – winner of several César awards (including best film), the latest work by Abdellatif Kechiche, author of “Blame It on Voltaire”, well-known to Polish audiences, and the latest piece from the French master, New Wave forerunner, Eric Rohmer – “Les amours d'Astrée et de Celadon”.
This year in Wrocław New Zealand cinema will be given exposure.Both the earliest and the latest productions of the Kiwi cinema industry will be screened. A special role in this review will be played by the pieces made in the golden era of the late 1970s and early 1980s when international festivals were dominated by works by Roger Donaldson and Geoff Murphy – plus a full retrospective of Vincent Ward.
The organizers of the Festival will show the best by the Greek director Theo Angelopoulos, There will also be productions byTerence Davies - British director called the Proust of the cinema. Among Polish directors Andrzej Żuławski and Witold Leszczyński will be represented.
