Which environmentally friendly solutions does Mebelplast focus on? The company is pioneer in introducing ecological high standards in its manufacture. Furniture here is made using modern and environmentally friendly technologies and from the highest quality natural raw materials. Confirmation of success in its endeavours to maintain high ecological standards is the fact that Melbelplast - as one of the first in Poland, was granted the ISO 14000 certificate, which is a set of environmental management system standards.

Production is the key area where Melbelplast introduces its ecological policy. It starts at the stage of purchasing ecologically friendly raw materials and components, that is wood and upholstered fabrics. Natural wood in its self is an ecological material, and in Mebelplast factories the application of modern technologies in utilising the raw materials and its resulting waste products is very high. The company buys its upholstery materials, that is leathers and fabrics, only from Western manufacturers who maintain a high technological production standard and who strictly adhere to ecological standards. It is the first Polish company to include “green” products, with the introduction of an ECO fabric collection, which is an absolute first on the Polish market - a 100 percent natural fabric, which does not contain any artificial fibres.

This manufacturer does not throw out the waste produced during the wood working onto the rubbish dump, but instead it goes to a special wood splitting machine and then is burned in an ecological boiler in the company’s plant in the city of Reszel. The process produces energy and heats water, which the company then sells to the city. In effect the company not only prevents environmental pollution, but also supplies energy and hot water to thousands of residents at lower prices then the harmful coal heat from energy suppliers. In the production process only water varnishes are used. Furthermore, the whole process is conducted in a closed cycle, isolated from the external environment, and the air is recirculated several times. Rigorous procedures and the use of modern technologies effectively ensure that dangerous substances are not emitted. Care for the environment is not limited only to the production process. In its transport fleet Mebelplast chose vehicles with the highest ecological engines. The next stage is to purchase hybrid vehicles.
