This year the Festival will take place on seven stages: the Main Stage, Tent Stage, World Stage, Young Talents Stage, Alter Space and two electronic music stages. Alter Stage has been created for the first time this year at it serves experimental-avant-garde music presentations. It is also open for jam sessions with the participation of the audience. It will be also used as an outdoor cinema screening documentaries and animations, theater performances and exhibitions.
The Open'er Festival is one of the most significant open air contemporary music events in Poland. It has been held in Gdynia since 2003. The first edition of the Festival took place in Warsaw in 2002 under the name Open Air Festival. “We have a very specific vision of the Festival. We plan to sell 50,000 tickets this year and not a single one more. We want it to be the size of the Heineken Open'er Festival. Audience size on such a scale guarantees that it will be an event hosting the most important European music artists, but it won’t get out of control. Mid-size European festivals have an audience of 20-40,000. So the 50,000 puts us among the largest festivals” – Mikołaj Ziółkowski, the head of Alter Art, the organizer of Open’er Festival says.
