Outlook for the manufacturing sector
In June 2008 the outlook for the manufacturing sector was positive, despite less optimistic financial forecasts for companies. Moods were additionally lifted by rising demand and production figures against the previous month
In June 2008, some 28% of the examined companies reported an improvement in business conditions and 11% said conditions deteriorated. Manufacturers signalled a rise in orders and production, however at a slower pace than in May. The coming three months are expected to bring a slowdown in new business. Stocks of finished products stayed at a satisfactory level. Despite less delays in customer payments, manufacturers reported a tighter financial situation than in May. They predicted that the next three months would bring financial improvement, a small employment rise and higher product prices.
June 2008 was assessed as a positive month by most industrial branches with the exception of clothing, fur and textile producers.
