The concert will inaugurate the 8th Sinfonia Varsovia ‘Swojemu Miastu’ Festival in memoriam Franciszek Wybrańczyk. The programme has been carefully chosen to commemorate the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II falling on the day of the concert. The evening will feature Marita Solberg – soprano, Sonia Wieder-Atherton – cello, Marc Minkowski – conductor and Aleksander Laskowski - master of ceremony.

The 8th edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Swojemu Miastu (For Its City) Festival will last until September 14. The event is organized by the Sinfonia Varsovia Foundation. It aims to present classical music to as many listeners as possible in places where symphony orchestras rarely appear. The admission is free. This year Sinfonia Varsovia can be heard under leading conductors such as Jerzy Maksymiuk, Krzysztof Penderecki and Marc Minkowski – its music director.
