Marks and Spencer Poland MSF Poland merger approved
2008-09-01
The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has approved the merger of Marks & Spencer Poland with MSF Poland, the Office has informed in a communiqué.
REKLAMA
The proceedings were initiated by Marks & Spencer Poland, which owns a chain of own-brand clothing and food stores in Poland. MSF Poland runs clothing stores under the brand name of Marks & Spencer in 4 Warsaw shopping centres: Złote Tarasy, Galeria Mokotów, Arkadia and Targówek.
Having completed the antimonopoly proceedings, OCCP decided that “the mergers will not significantly lessen competition, in particular by creating or strengthening a dominant position on the market”.
Under the existing law from 2000, a transaction needs to be notified to the antitrust agency if it involves enterprises whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded EUR 1 billion globally or EUR 50 million in Poland.
