REKLAMA
Afterfall (premiered on September 5) is the newest Polish cRPG production. Its creators are anticipating a spectacular financial success. Part of the income is expected to come from in-game advertising, the so called product placement, TVN24 reports. Yankee Group, an independent technology research and consulting firm, says the global computer game advertising market will be worth almost USD 1 billion in 2011. Virtual product placement is very popular in sport computer games but it’s gaining popularity also in other types of games. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory players will see Airwaves chewing gum, Axe deodorants and Nokia mobile phones in the virtual reality. ‘Advertisements in traditional media have reached the limit of their effectiveness. Those who want to advertise are looking for an alternative. Computer games are an excellent advertising medium’ Marcin Marzecki of CD Projekt told ‘Rzeczpospolita’.
